Escubedo is made up of a team of over 300 professionals from around the world who connect more than 50 countries and enable the production of 4 billion components per year. To bring you closer to all of them, today we are starting a series of brief interviews with members from all departments of the company.
We begin with Jordi Escubedo, who in 2025 will celebrate 30 years as a manager. There is no one better than him to tell us about Escubedo's place in the market and its future.
- What is the key to Escubedo's privileged position in the connection systems market?
We could say that the key to our positioning is addressing our clients' needs with flexibility and service orientation, creating reliable and precise products. The connection systems market is dominated by large multinationals with significant innovation capacity, but they often approach their clients based on large volumes. The fact that we can address our clients' needs with products that already exist in our catalog or through the development of new products is also a key factor.
With our knowledge of metal stamping technologies, thermoplastic injection, and overmolding, we can develop the product, the necessary molds, and dies, and with a full orientation towards automation, place our products competitively in the market.
- What are the main challenges you have faced to achieve this positioning?
Never losing two things: client orientation and productive excellence, so that our products remain competitive and provide good service to our clients.
These two elements have made client proximity key for us, both to reduce logistical costs and to be close to the client and understand their needs firsthand. This has allowed the company to expand into other countries, currently making us one of the market's suppliers with the greatest global presence outside of the large multinationals.
- And in the coming years? How do you see Escubedo in the future?
We have challenges ahead, mainly in the development of products that will be present in the evolving markets in which we operate. The evolution of the automotive sector towards electric vehicles and the changes this brings to their connection systems is one of the major product challenges we face. On the other hand, the company's growth in recent years makes it necessary to change some dynamics that will allow us to maintain our positioning without losing proximity to our markets.
